Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who is heading the Durga Pooja organising committee, on Monday chaired a high-level preparatory meeting to review the status of arrangements for the upcoming celebrations, and informed that out of 134 applications received so far, 97 have already been cleared, with the rest to be approved after due diligence.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to eliminating hassles of red tapism, the minister announced the creation of a dedicated single-window system for all the approvals regarding the arrangements for the festivities.

Sirsa stated, “The era of running from one office to another is over. We have created a single-window system that will ensure all necessary approvals and NOCs are provided to Puja committees within 72 hours of application. This is our commitment to facilitating a smooth and spiritually fulfilling celebration for everyone,” he added.
The Minister emphasised the Delhi government’s role as a proactive facilitator and further stated, “We are managing the preparations to eliminate any potential roadblocks. Our aim is to play a cooperating role by ensuring all necessary arrangements, from sanitation and drinking water to emergency healthcare, electricity, and security, are impeccably managed.”
The meeting was attended by MLAs Shikha Rai, Neeraj Baisoya, Ravinder Singh Negi, and Chandan Kumar Chaudhary, along with Divisional Commissioner Neeraj Semwal and the District Magistrates of all districts, while senior officers from civic bodies and other departments were also present.
Meanwhile, this time over 80 artificial ponds are to be created across the national capital for the eco-friendly Murti Visarjan after the Puja.
